Vital Tasks

As an inspector at the unit for Supervision Event Follow-up and Technology, you will play a key role in ensuring that nuclear power plants and other nuclear facilities operate safely and properly.

We offer you a role where you are responsible for supervision within your area of expertise and work closely with colleagues, both within and across departmental and unit boundaries. You contribute your expertise throughout the chain, from review and analysis to building up the supervisory activities within your areas of responsibility. Together with engaged colleagues, you drive important issues forward and contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge development.

Your tasks will include:

  • reviewing documentation and assessing facility changes for license holders
  • conducting inspections and monitoring activities at the operator
  • participating in and contributing to regulatory work and permit assessments
  • following and analyzing developments in your field
  • participating in networks, conferences, and in some cases international collaborations as needed.

We are looking for someone who has

  • an engineering degree or equivalent work experience in the relevant field as assessed by the authority
  • knowledge of power engineering standards and design of power systems or knowledge of the design of programmable and relay-based instrumentation and control systems
  • good proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written
  • good proficiency in English.

It is advantageous if you have knowledge or work experience in the following:

Power Engineering

  • design of power supply to safety systems in nuclear facilities
  • design of nuclear power plant power systems including the establishment of defense in depth and safety functions
  • maintenance of power equipment
  • high voltage regulations.

I&C

  • experience in the design or maintenance of programmable and relay-based instrumentation and control systems in high safety requirement operations
  • experience of design conditions in nuclear power plants
  • knowledge of qualification including environmental qualification of electrical components.

Employment Conditions

The employment is a permanent position starting by agreement. The employment may begin with a six-month probationary period. In this role, you will be employed as an inspector. Travel in the service occurs. The place of employment is Solna, Katrineholm, or Gothenburg.

Some of our tasks are classified, which means that a security check with a register control according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our classified tasks, Swedish citizenship is also required.

You may be part of the authority's crisis organization and may also be assigned to the authority in wartime. The crisis organization performs radiation protection assessments and nuclear analyses and collaborates with other relevant actors to handle radiological emergencies, including situations of heightened preparedness.

Fitness Certificate

A fitness certificate for work with ionizing radiation is required for the position. Consideration will be given to any conflict of interest rules and waiting periods.
